Titled Teacher as Writer, the workshop is part of the project’s ongoing efforts to foster better education through improved writing. The workshop, which will take place in Boehlert Hall and Conference Center, will include teaching demonstrations and an introduction to web-based teaching tools. The registration fee is $50. The Mohawk Valley Writing Project, an affiliate of the National Writing Project, is a federally-funded professional development program for teachers. Workshops are open to K-12 teachers from all subject areas. The Writing Project seeks to inspire practicing teachers and develop a local network in which their insights, practices and wisdom can be shared through inservice projects. Writing Project teacher consultants become leaders in their regions, helping to build vital and productive literacy communities in their schools.
