Utica, NY (03/14/2008) - The Universal Cheerleading Association (UCA) has named Utica College a flagship location for the second straight year. The designation recognizes colleges and universities that “rate highly for the best overall experience” for the students who participate in residential camps.Lauded for its food service, housing, facilities, special activities and guest services, UC is the only college in New York state to earn the flagship designation this year. In its northeast region, UCA has recognized only three other locations as flagship sites.
“This designation lets potential campers, their families and cheer advisors know that they can expect an exceptional experience at Utica College,” said Joni Pulliam, executive director of corporate and professional programs.
UCA, a national organization based in Memphis, trained more than 180,000 cheerleaders at 267 locations across the U.S. last year. The UCA partners with colleges and universities throughout New York State, offering three- and four-day camps for cheerleading and dance.
Utica College will host a UCA cheerleading camp July 22 – 25. For more information, contact the Office of Corporate and Professional Programs at 792-3344.
