UC Students Join National Academic Fraternity
PR Students Recognized for Excellence

Utica, NY (04/12/2007) - Seven Utica College public relations students and one program alumna were inducted into the academic fraternity Tau Mu Epsilon during a campus ceremony March 21.Tau Mu Epsilon is the oldest public relations academic fraternity in the country, and the Utica College chapter, established in 1952, was the second chapter to be installed. Inductees must be public relations or public relations/journalism majors and maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average. Involvement in extracurricular activities, a reputation for integrity and contribution to the campus are also required for induction.
This year, the chapter inducted Timothy J. Macomber of Barnegat, NJ, Theresa M. Hall of Durhamville, NY, Michelle N. Miller of New Berlin, NY, Sarah E. Richards of Stafford, CT, Jasmine A. Seavey of Canton, NY, Desiree Dismore of Freeport, NY, and Jameelee S. Ford of Albany, all seniors. Aida Mariani was also inducted as a program alumna. Mariani graduated from Utica College in 1999 with a dual major in public relations/journalism and political science. She is currently a communications specialist for Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare in Utica and an adjunct public relations professor at Utica College.
