UC to Offer IRS Tax Institute this August

Utica, NY (07/27/2006) - Utica College, in conjunction with the IRS and the New York State Department of Taxation, will hold a special summer institute for tax practitioners.“E-Interactions,” providing up-to-date instruction on the use of the Internet to file taxes, will be held Tuesday, Aug. 8 from 8:30 a.m. until noon in the Grand Ballroom at the Holiday Inn in the Utica Business Park in New Hartford.
The course is worth four Continuing Professional Education Units (CPEs) for accountants. Registration is $99 through July 31 and $110 for those who register later. The fee includes resource materials, breakfast and a coffee break.
Representatives from the IRS and the New York State Department of Taxation will discuss how to use the Internet to file taxes, as well as explaining the benefits to this technology and give updates on how to electronically file taxes. Local practitioner Susan Bartholomew will discuss personal experience with electronic interactions, including programs, services and the Web. There will also be a question and answer session during the seminar.
