Biography

David B. Kiner has extensive administrative and teaching experience as well as expertise in marketing, leadership development and strategic planning. Prior to joining Utica College, Dr. Kiner was a Visiting Professor at Syracuse University. Previously, he held numerous leadership roles at the Sage Colleges in Albany, NY.  As an Associate Professor and the Froman Endowed Chair in Business, he led their Graduate Programs in Management including the MBA, Organizational Management and Health Administration Programs.

Kiner has served as a Visiting Professor of Marketing at the Manhattan Institute of Management (New York, NY), a guest lecturer in marketing through the international MBA program of the Université Libres Internationales (Paris, France) and an instructor of marketing at Western New England College (Springfield, MA).

As a marketing consultant for several U.S. and international companies, his professional area has focused on new product development and market research. His business and industrial research portfolio includes longitudinal market surveys, marketing audits and strategic communications and marketing plans, and implementation of one of the most successful promotional and athletic events in the history of the Anheuser-Busch brand were he established a world record (recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records) in Skijaking, a popular water sport in Europe. Athletics have always been central to Kiner's professional experiences. He played basketball in Europe where he was selected to represent North Ireland on that country's Olympic team.

Kiner spends his leisure time building Adirondack furniture, pursuing his passion for photography, continues to struggle with his golf score, and along with his wife, Carol, maintain extensive flower gardens at their Clinton, NY home.
