Susan Draves has 19 years of experience teaching Spanish and also has taught French for several years. She was the Department Chairperson at Rome Catholic High School and throughout her foreign language career has developed curriculum, taken students on numerous field trips and assisted many students with learning disabilities. She participated in an exchange program in Quito, Ecuador and spent her junior year in college studying abroad in Madrid, Spain. In her leisure time she enjoys travel, listening to international music, spending time with her family and reading.

Román Santos, a native of Southern California, was born and raised in a bilingual household. His parents are from Mexico and he spoke Spanish exclusively at home. He has traveled in Mexico extensively and lived in Buenos Aires for two years. He received a BA in History from Brigham Young University, an MA in Spanish Linguistics from San Diego State University, and an MAEd in Secondary Education from The University of Phoenix. He has taught Spanish at the High School level for several years. He teaches Full-time at MVCC.

Alfred J. Valentini has been teaching for 34 years. His career includes the instruction of children from grade 7 to adults in college. He retired from Thomas R. Proctor High School in Utica, NY as Department Chair of Languages Other than English (June 2007)and continues as an adjunct faculty member of Utica College and Mohawk Valley Community College. He is also the Director of Instruction of the IACE Summer Program in Italy.
