Economic Crime Institute Of Utica College
16TH ANNUAL CONFERENCE
OCTOBER 23-25, 2005
The 16th Annual Economic Crime Institute Conference will be held October 23-25, 2005 at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Tysons Corner, Virginia. This year the theme is Information at Risk: Challenge and Conflict. The sharing of personal information has gained great importance in the post 9/11 era, as more safeguards are developed and needed to prevent terrorism, enhance national security, and encourage commerce. Those who hold such data: government agencies, information providers, credit card issuers, telecommunication companies, health providers, colleges and universities, retailers, etc., are faced with the challenges of using, sharing, and protecting the data. This conference will focus on the challenges and conflict that arise from using and sharing information. Experts from industry, government, and academe will share their views on data usage and rules, technology and policy, protecting against personal identifier information breaches, regulation and privacy, and mitigating information risks to commerce, government, law enforcement, and national security
