MESSAGE FROM THE ACTING EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

George Curtis, J.D.The Economic Crime Institute (ECI) of Utica College was founded in 1988 to provide support for the College’s undergraduate program in Economic Crime Investigation. While this was its primary mission, our vision for ECI went far beyond this relatively limited charge.

I am proud to say that over the nearly twenty years of its existence, ECI has more than fulfilled our original expectations, making significant contributions to the field through:

  • the development of academic programs, most notably our Master of Science in Economic Crime Management, launched in 1998;

  • the annual ECI conference, which has attracted expert speakers and participants since its establishment in 1991;

  • leading-edge online publications supported by ECI: the Journal of Economic Crime Management (www.jecm.org) and the International Journal of Digital Evidence (www.ijde.org)

  • the establishment of CIMIP – the Center for Identity Management and Information Protection of Utica College (www.cimip.org) – a research collaborative of major academic, corporate, and government partners launched in 2006.

I encourage you avail yourself of the resources offered on this Web site. If you have any questions or comments, or would like further information, please contact me directly at gcurtis@utica.edu .
