Programs Receive "Excellence in Education" Awards from Genesis Group

- Utica College will received not one but two Excellence in Education awards from the Genesis Group for its Cybersecurity program and Northeast Cyber Forensics Center (NCFC).

The annual Celebration of Education recognizes exemplary teachers and education programs that have achieved excellence throughout the Mohawk Valley Region. UC will be honored at the celebration for taking home two awards.

The Celebration will appropriately take place during American Education Week on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 5:30 p.m. It will be held at Hart’s Hill Inn in Whitesboro.

Utica College’s NCFC is the leading institution-based laboratory in the nation that provides criminal forensic investigation of digital evidence. It collaborates with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies and private public sector entities. Its fully functional crime laboratory offers cost-effective and high quality cyber forensics services for local, state and federal law enforcement, as well as corporate and private clients.

Utica College's suite of cybersecurity programs includes a bachelors degree that is available on-campus and online and an online masters degree. It is one of the most comprehensive programs in the nation, offering the most extensive coursework in digital forensics and investigation currently available. It is an innovative, multidisciplinary program that provides the critical skills needed to succeed in this highly specialized profession.

Additionally, the program is supported by advanced forensic technologies and research resources available in UC's state-of-the-art Economic Crime, Justice Studies and Cybersecurity facility.
