Aveksa Inc. joins CIMIP to provide specific expertise in access governance
Utica, NY (03/16/2009)- Aveksa, Inc., the market-leading provider of enterprise access governance solutions, today announced that it has joined the Center for Identity Management and Information Protection of Utica College (CIMIP) as its newest member of the board of advisors. Aveksa will contribute to research-based projects dealing with identity and access risk, and share its expertise based on real-world access governance deployments at leading global organizations around the world. As the latest addition to CIMIP, Aveksa joins other members of the board of advisors, including the United States Marshals Service, the United States Postal Inspection Service and Syracuse University’s CASE Center, in their efforts to solve growing problems related to identity fraud and theft, and information protection.
CIMIP, the first research collaborative of its kind, is comprised of leading government, corporate and academic institutions. Founded in 2006, CIMIP is dedicated to the study of identity management, information sharing, data protection and addressing the crimes of identity theft and identity fraud. CIMIP’s board of advisors provide resources, gather subject matter experts, provide access to sensitive data, and produce results that will be acted upon. These results are put into action in the form of best practices, new policies, regulations legislation, training opportunities and proactive initiatives.
“Based on its work with a number of organizations across a broad range of industries, Aveksa lends a unique perspective on the best practices necessary to safeguard information resources and confidential customer information,” said Donald Rebovich, Ph.D., executive director of CIMIP. “Aveksa’s guidance on access risk management will be invaluable to CIMIP as we examine issues related to insider access and theft. We anticipate a productive relationship with Aveksa as we seek to achieve our mutual goal of improving information protection for businesses and consumers.”
“CIMIP provides a one-of-a-kind opportunity to collaborate with business, government and academic leaders to address critical identity and access issues,” said Deepak Taneja, founder, president and CTO of Aveksa. “We look forward to contributing our knowledge of effective access governance policies and processes to help further the organization in its mission to safeguard the confidential information of citizens, consumers and the businesses upon which they rely.”
