File Server Access from On Campus
I think it would be very helpful if students could get access to their files from the server from their dorm room machines while on campus.

If there could be access off campus as well for the commuter students it would be great. For those times when people forget something and have to drive back in... its only a walk for dorm students to get something they forgot

The best solution right now is to use the storage available in Google Drive through the new UC Google Apps system. Google Drive gives each user 5GB of storage space (much better than 150MB currently offered on the network drives) and it's available from any computer with Internet access as well as most mobile devices. We hope to have instructions created for using Google Drive later this semester.
