Export and Import your Email Address Books


Export For Mozilla Thunderbird:


  • Click the Tools menu then Address Book.
  • If you have multiple address books listed on the left side choose the one you wish to export.  You may need to do this step and the following ones multiple times to get all of your address books.
  • Click Tools and then Export.
  • You must change the "Save as Type" drop down box at the bottom to Comma Separated (*.csv).
  • Browse to a location to save the export, and give it a name.
  • Now go to the Import instructions below.

Export For WebMail:

  • Login to webmail and click on the Address Book tab.
  • Click on the Import/Export button.  If it does not appear available, be sure the drop down list below it says "Personal Address Book" and click Search.
  • Change Export format to Microsoft Outlook CSV and click Export.
  • Save the file.
  • Now go to the Import instructions below.

Export For Outlook:

  • Click on Contacts.
  • Click on the File menu then Options.
  • Choose Advanced on the left side.
  • Click the Export button.
  • Choose Export to a File, Next.
  • Choose Commas Separated Values (Windows), Next.
  • Select Contacts if it's not already selected, Next.
  • Click Browse and choose where to save your file and name it, Next.
  • Click Finish.

Import into Google Mail:

  • Login to your UC Google account.
  • Click on Contacts at the top of the page.
  • Click on Import Contacts on the left.
  • Click on Choose File and browse for the file you saved in the export steps.
  • Click Import.

Note:

 If you previously had groups in your contact lists they must be recreated.  To make a group:
  • Open your Google Contacts.
  • From the contacts you have select the members you wish to be in the group using the check boxes next to their names.
  • Click on the New Group buttonNew Group
  • Click on Create New at the bottom of the drop down list.
  • Enter a name for your group and click OK.
