Psychology Major

The psychology faculty prides itself on the individual attention its students receive both in and outside the classroom.

All of the department's full-time faculty members are actively involved in research. They welcome student participation in their projects and also supervise student research projects.

I am primarily interested in exploring questions concerning applied cognition and mental enrichment. How can we better understand memory processes and use this knowledge to design more effective study strategies? How can academic performance be enriched by better understanding factors influencing self-regulation, mindsets, goal setting, and procrastination? In addition to examining questions like these, I have also thoroughly enjoyed collaborating with students on a wide variety of research projects inspired by their interests in topics ranging from the relationship between savoring and life satisfaction to questions concerning mental motor imagery.
