Biography
Professor Gonyea earned her post-professional Doctor of Occupational Therapy Degree at Creighton University in Omaha, NE. She earned a Master of Media Management and Instructional Technology degree at the State University of New York at Potsdam, a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy at Dominican College of Blauvelt and an Associate of Applied Science degree in Occupational Therapy from Maria College in Albany, NY. In addition to her role as chair and program director of the Utica College Occupational Therapy Program, Dr. Gonyea developed and continues to coordinate a systems-change oriented fieldwork program for occupational therapy and occupational therapy assistant students within a major mental health system. Dr. Gonyea has contributed to two mental health textbooks and is a collaborative investigator of factors that influence the successful integration of individuals with mental health challenges in the community.
