New Student First Steps
Welcome Online Students!
Congratulations on your acceptance to UC! This webpage holds important information to get you started with our online tools and other useful information that you will use during your time at UC.
Step One
Activating Your Online Account
Go to this website: http://password.utica.eduFollow these directions:
- Click “Continue” at the bottom (visual)
- Click “Find My Banner ID”. (visual)
- Enter your SSN, last name, and DOB (visual)
- You’ll be brought back to the previous screen with all fields filled-in (visual)
- Continue to the next screen. Write down the information presented there and click “Activate Account”. (visual)
Step Two
Register for Your Course(s)
The next step is to get you registered for your upcoming courses. If you received a study plan, please use that as a reference. If not, you can call our office to find out which courses to register for: (315) 792-3001

Step Three
Check Your Utica College eMail Account
Use the username and password you just created.

Your password will expire automatically every 180 days (six months). Beginning 31 days before expiration you will receive daily reminders that you need to reset your password. If you do not reset your password, your account will lock and you will have to contact the Help Desk to have it unlocked. You will have until midnight of that day to reset the password, or the account will re-lock.
Please keep in mind that UC eMail and ANGEL eMail (the eMail within your academic course) are two separate accounts. UC eMail can be forwarded to your preferred eMail account (home, work, etc) if you prefer. Please contact the Help Desk for assistance: 1-866-264-1537
Step Four
Get Your Books!

- Click: “Get this term’s hottest books” (visual)
Step Five
Prepare for Residency!

Step Six
Log Into Angel
PLEASE NOTE: You will not be able to activate your ANGEL account until have successfully registered for your first course. Shortly after you are registered (typically within 1 hour) you will receive an auto-generated e-mail to your Utica.edu e-mail account. This e-mail will include information needed to activate your ANGEL account.

Once in your ANGEL account you will see your courses as well as the “Student Resource Center” which includes helpful information about navigating through ANGEL. You also have access to a Student Quick Start guide which is located in “Public Information”.
*Please note- you will not be able to access your course until 1 business day prior to your start date
