BECAUSEInservice Presentation
Because Writing Matters, a workshop for teachers:
o works across the curriculum and across grade levels.
o is informed by current research on writing instruction, including Carl Nagin's study of the National Writing Project, Because Writing Matters, and the Writing Next report, commissioned by the Carnegie Corporation of New York and released by the Alliance for Excellent Education, and the National Writing Project.
o includes time for teachers to work on common writing assignments and practical lessons that can be incorporated immediately into classroom practice.
o can be funded by the Mohawk Valley Writing Project.
Because Writing Matters can be presented at your school or teacher center as an after-school or inservice day event. It can be adapted to offer anywhere from five to forty contact hours.
