Program Learning Goals
The Department of Mathematics of Utica College has established the following five goals for students who complete the Bachelor of Arts degree program in Mathematics:
- Students will demonstrate proficiency in reading and analyzing mathematical proofs.
- Students will demonstrate proficiency in writing mathematical proofs.
- Students will demonstrate proficiency in formulating and solving mathematical problems.
- Students will demonstrate proficiency in communicating mathematics orally to a learning audience. (Teaching Concentration only.
- Students will demonstrate proficiency in communicating mathematics in written form.
